Managing Subscribers

Your subscribers are the people who receive your newsletter. This page shows you how to add them, import a list, and understand who they are.

A note on wording: Inside Buzzly, your subscriber list is sometimes called your distribution or diffusion list. It all means the same thing: the people who get your emails.

Where subscribers live

Go to Subscribers in your dashboard sidebar. You'll see your full list, and you can search, filter by status, and sort it. Each reader shows their email and current status.

Adding subscribers

One at a time

Use the Add subscriber form and enter their email, first name, and last name. Only the email is strictly required.

Import a whole list (CSV)

Have readers in a spreadsheet? Import them all at once.

  1. Prepare a CSV file with three columns: email, firstName, lastName.
  2. Click Import and upload the file.
  3. Buzzly checks each row and adds valid readers to your list.

Good to know: CSV import is a Pro (paid) feature. See Monetization & plans to upgrade.

Let readers subscribe themselves

The most common way your list grows is through the signup form on your public website and newsletter page. Anyone who visits can subscribe on their own.

Understanding a subscriber

Click any reader to see their profile:

  • Status (active, unsubscribed, etc.)
  • Engagement — how many emails they've been sent, opened, and clicked.
  • The theme/tag they're grouped under, if any.
  • Signup date and recent activity.

Grouping and targeting readers

You can assign a Theme (tag) to a subscriber to group them — for example, "Free readers" vs. "Premium readers," or by interest. This helps you keep your audience organized.

Bulk actions

Select multiple subscribers to delete them together, or export your filtered list to a spreadsheet.

What happens when someone unsubscribes?

Every email includes an unsubscribe link (this is required by law). When a reader unsubscribes:

  • They stop receiving your emails.
  • They stay visible in your list marked as Unsubscribed, so your records stay complete.
  • They can choose to resubscribe later if they change their mind.

Next: Grow faster by turning readers into recruiters — see Referrals.
