Themes & Tags
Themes (also called tags) are labels you create to organize your content and your readers. Think of them like folders or categories.

What themes do
A theme has a name and an optional description. You can attach a theme to two things:
- Posts — Tag your issues by topic (e.g. "Product updates," "Weekly roundup," "Interviews"). This keeps your archive tidy and helps readers find what interests them.
- Subscribers — Group your readers (e.g. "Beginners," "Pros," "Paying members") so you can keep track of different audiences.
Creating a theme
- Go to Themes in your dashboard sidebar.
- Click New Theme.
- Give it a name and, if you like, a short description.
- Save.
You can create as many as you need, and edit or remove them anytime.
Using themes
- On a post: In Step 1 of the post editor, pick one or more themes for the issue.
- On a subscriber: Open a reader's profile from Managing Subscribers and assign a theme to group them.
Tip: Keep your list of themes short and meaningful. A handful of clear categories is far more useful than dozens of overlapping ones.
